The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page “St Augustine”. My lust for travel is serious and it’s silly of me to make a list of places to travel in my life time because, I sincerely want to travel every where in the world. I want to experience the natural wonders of our creator, man-made masterpieces,city scapes, wildlife and all, but should it happen that am not able to travel everywhere in the world, then these are the places I’ll d love to see ticked in my travel diary. In no order of accordance…
Iceland: A place where fire and Ice co-exist! sounds amazing. There’s a lot I’lld want to see and experience here like the Aurora(polar light) a natural light display in the sky,the blue lagoon which has a milky blue water and surrounded by lava making it captivating.The Reynisfjara beach is a black sand beach surrounded by roaring surf and mountains, I want to slowly crawl into one of the unbelievable ice caves and ooh the Gulfoss water fall. Well let me just pause here as I said earlier, there’s a lot I’ll want to experience in Iceland.
The great wall of China: Known as the worlds longest wall and one of the greatest sight in the world, the ancient architecture is made up of bricks, wood, stone and other materials. The wall is 13,170.69 miles with a history of more than 2000 years, it consist of several walls built in the 7th centuary BCE which were joined together and made bigger and stronger. It has amazing array of scenery from the mountains to the beaches to desert corridor. Cuddling a Panda, the grand canal and experiencing a high speed Chinese rail ride are among things I’lld o do in China.
Phucket: Phucket is Thailand’s largest Island famous for it’s wide variety of beautiful beaches, clear water, limestone cliffs, caves and coral forest which I can’t wait to explore. I also want to experience Thai culture and street life from the golden buddhist temples to the buzzing markets and oooh the much talked about full moon party at Koh Phangan.
Mount Kilimanjaro : I’lld love to climb mount Everest but truthfully, I wouldn’t want to start what I know I can’t finish, so I’ll just limit myself to Mountain Kilimanjaro. The highest mountain in Africa which is located in Tanzania and it takes 5 to 9 days to successfully finish climbing. Seeing myself up there would be a dream come true!
Greece: Apparently, Greece is made up of a mountains, mainland and hundreds of Islands where each offers it’s own share of stunning landscapes, historic sites, night life scenes etc. The volcanic Santorini is one island which boost of stunning scenery, glorious sunset, clifftop towns , volcanic beaches with red, black and white sand. Athens, the countries capital also present a confusing blend of historical and modern features,I guess that is exactly why it’s on my list. Not forgetting Giola a unique water reservior which provides a pleasant swimming experience on the island of Thassos, the natural pool is seperated from the sea with a rock wall.
Egyptian Pyramids: These pyramids are ancient masonry structures located in Egypt and most of them were built as tombs for the Pharaohs during the old and middle kingdom. The Khufu pyramid at Giza is the largest among the Egyptian pyramids and also one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world that is still in existence.
Kyoto : Formally the capital and with the reputation as the most beautiful city in Japan, Kyoto is vast in it’s cultural heritage and has lots of palace,temples,shrines. I want to experience Japanese festival, view cherry blossoms. The Phoenix hall at Byodo regarded as Japan’s most beautiful building is also one of the many places I’lld want to see.
South Africa: One country am assured of an amazing travel experiences is the Republic of South Africa. It’s located on the southernmost tip of Africa, seen as a playground for adventurous travelers with diverse wildlife. The Kruger national park is one of the largest game reserve in Africa with vast landscapes and spectacular African wildlife. Blyde river canyon, table mountain, two oceans aquarium, wonder cave among others are placesI’lld love to see in South Africa.
Bora Bora : Bora Bora is the most celebrated island in the French Polynesia with a population of about 8800 people as at August 2007. It’s famous for it’s aqua-centric luxury resorts such as Four Seasons resorts, Bora Bora Pearl beach resort.Aside the luxurious resorts, one can deceide to go mountain hiking,boat tours, experience the coral gardens depending on how active or inactive you want to be.
Victoria falls: Among the worlds greatest and most spectacular waterfalls, Victoria falls is no exception. It’s located in southern Africa in between the borders of Zambia and Zimbabwe. David Livingstone, the first European to see the waterfalls in 1855 described it saying “scenes so lovely might have been gazed upon by angels in their flight”. There is even a devils pool where it’s said that you could cheat death and literally swim right on the edge of the 108m drop.
Paris: Recognized as one of the most romantic destinations in the world, Paris is a city and a global center for art, fashion and culture. It has some amazing landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the 12th-century, Gothic Notre-Dame cathedral, the city is known for its cafe culture, and designer boutiques along the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
